'Abot' was born 28.03.01. He started to be shown at 6 months of age and won very well in the show ring.
He won several Best Puppy In Show awards at open shows and Best Puppy In Breed at Championship Shows. The most memorable result being presented with Best Puppy In Breed at Crufts 2002 by Erica Jayes (Sandylands) and Les Brabban (Cambremer).
It was not long after Crufts that Abot Won his first Reserve Challenge Certificate awarded by Frank Kane. He subsequently went on to win 3 Challenge Certificates with 3 Best of Breeds and was made up to a Show Champion. This was achieved when Abot was 16 1/2 months old. Abot went on to win a further 15 Reserve Challenge Certificates before winning a futher 5 Challenge Certificates with 3 Best Of Breeds. He won the 5 Challenge Certificates during 2005. This ultimately won him the award of Top Winning Labrador in the UK for that year. Abot has also gained his Show Gundog Working Certificate which has made him up to a full Champion. He won this the day before the Ladies Kennel Association Championship Show.
At LKA in 2005 he won the Challenge Certificate with Best of Breed. He was judged by Mrs Chris Jury who gave him the Challenge Certificate and jointly by Mr Anthony Jury to be presented with Best Of Breed.
Abot also won the Challenge Certificate and Best of Breed at LKA
in 2006 for the second year running judged by Mrs Brenda Taylor.
This has thrilled us no end.
2005 was a wonderful and memorable year for us. Rocheby Old Smokey who is owned and bred by Marion & David Hopkinson won over all Top Stud Dog of all breeds 2005, Abot was Top Winning Labrador 2005 and Abots son Sh Ch Suttonpark Manifesto JW owned and bred by Michael & Judi Neachell was the CC winner and Best Of Breed at Crufts 2006. Superb wins all round.
Rocheby Old Smokey has now passed away.
Abot was placed 1st in the Pedigree Champion Stakes at Birmingham Dog Show Championship Show.

This photo was taken 05.05.01. Abot was only 5 weeks and 2 days old.
We thought he was lovely as a puppy and even at this age, he was one of the first to respond to us when we called the puppies.
